| RULES & REGULATIONS $1,000,000 HUNGRY DUCK DERBY ON THE OUACHITA The race is presented by FOOD BANK OF NORTHEAST LOUISIANA to benefit their mission to fight hunger in Northeast Louisiana. They are a 501 (c)3 Tax Exempt Charity. (Tax I.D. 72-1333809) 10,000 ducks will be entered in the event. Ducks will be launched into the Ouachita River at approximately 6pm on Saturday July 4, 2009. The Presenter will establish the event location. The Presenter will determine a winner by random selection of ducks plucked from the water. In the event of inclement weather, acts of God or other circumstances beyond the Presenters reasonable control the ducks will not be launched into the River and the winners will be randomly drawn. Once the ducks are launched, they are on their own. No attempt to free or interfere with any duck is permitted, unless deemed necessary by the Presenter. All ducks entered will be provided by the Presenter and shall remain the property of the Presenter. A number will be attached to each duck corresponding to the number on a chance ticket (adoption paper). Multiple duck entries from one ticket will be a assigned additional duck numbers for identification. Prizes will be awarded to the holder of each entry ticket in the order of the random drawn duck numbers. All prizes must be claimed by the winner within thirty (30) days and are subject to vendor expiration dates. Prizes will not be mailed or shipped but must be picked up at the address below. Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana - 4600 Central Avenue - Monroe, LA 71203 Winners will be announced at Forsythe Boat Dock after the completion of the event and tabulation of the results. Entrants do not need to be present to win a prize. Winners will be notified by U.S. Mail or by telephone. A list of winners will be available on the Presenters website www.fbnela.com. Prizes must be claimed by August 4, 2009. All prizes will be awarded. No cash equivalent prizes will be provided in lieu of the designated prizes. Prizes won by minors will be awarded to the parent/guardian. Winners shall be responsible for the payment of federal income tax withholding. Excess ducks (not adopted) will be launched into the event. If the first duck plucked from the water is an excess duck, the Grand Prize will be awarded to the adoptive parents of the first-adopted duck to be plucked. The remaining smaller prizes will likewise be awarded in similar fashion. Directors and principals of the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana shall be ineligible to participate in the Promotion and shall be ineligible for any prize covered herein. By entering, entrants release Presenter (FBNELA) and its members, agents, employees, supporters, volunteers, City of Monroe, Monroe Jaycees and the various organizations involved in the presentation and completion of the event from any and all liability with respect to prizes. By entering, winners consent to the promotional use of their names and likenesses without additional compensation. Chances of winning depend on the total number of qualified entries. This event is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law. The Hungry Duck Derby and its logo are trademarks of the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana and no other person or entity is authorized to copy or otherwise use them without the express written consent of the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana, (318)322-3567. The winning duck numbers are selected prior to the race and kept in a sealed security envelope. When the first adopted duck is plucked, a race official will determine whether the duck is one of the preselected million-dollar winning ducks. If it is, the duck adopter wins the million-dollar* grand prize. If it is not, the million-dollar prize will not be awarded. The odds of winning are approximately 1:3333. *The million dollar prize is paid in 25 equal annual installments of $40,000 each, without interest. In the event that the million-dollar duck is plucked first, the Presenters First place prize will be given to the second duck that is plucked out. 7. Excess ducks (not adopted) will be launched into the Race. If the first duck to cross the finish line is an excess duck, the Grand Prize will be awarded to the adoptive parents of the first-adopted duck to cross the finish line thereafter. The remaining smaller prizes will likewise be awarded in similar fashion. 8. The Board of Directors of FBNELA, race judges and the Duck Race Committee members are not eligible to win. Winners must prove eligibility. 9.
